The Rundown: Slade goes on a dangerous journey as the bug sects meet to prepare for war.

In order to save his brother from the combined forces of the bug sects gathering to kill him, Slade takes a dangerous journey into the depths of the web to find a way to save his brother. As his journey takes him into a world that extends beyond the backyard and the plants, he fights for his life with the power of the amulet of woeden. A battle that will bring him face to face with someone familiar and set him on the path of destiny.

At the same time, the bug sects meet to discuss plans to collectively attack Slade’s brother Sydney and his threat to their environment. Sydney meanwhile, tries to console his mother and blame the house and bugs for what happened to his father and brother. As he leaves to create more destruction with the bugs in the yard, Slade emerges with a new purpose, but it might be too late to stop what’s coming.

The Story: Aaron has continued to create a thrilling, engaging world in this issue. The story is taking some dark and entertaining turns with both the world building and the characters. I am impressed with the tone of this story and the growth of Slade as a character. The action in the issue is thrilling and I love the buildup of tension as each element comes together. I’m excited to see what happens next.

The Art: Asrar deliver beautifully detailed and visually thrilling art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of this series and the character designs are fantastic. There is a wonderful, lush and compelling world being created in this series.
